The opening in the dash seems easy enough. It's not like some of the weirdly shaped dashboard setups I see in other cars. But no one seems to make dash kit for it. Stereo shops will tell you they have to fabricate one custom for it. Why is this?
Why so hard to put aftermarket stereo in CX-5 with the 7" touchscreen?

We had a 2014 and you’re right - that was easy. But this 2016 that has the Mazda Connect and 7” touchscreen (non-Bose) is a different beast. Not even Crutchfield has a dash kit for it.
